A note from the club
A reading club with a scorecard, a calendar, and very strong feelings.
The short version
she club on my book til I Ed is a small, gloriously overcommitted reading club built around one simple idea: the best part of a book is finding out what everyone else made of it.
We take turns choosing the next title, read it in the real world — with varying degrees of success — then meet to compare notes, defend our favourites, and discover exactly how far apart eight opinions can be.
Every pick gets a place in the archive: the book, the chooser, the verdict and the ratings. The point is not to manufacture consensus. It is to keep the disagreements, the surprises and the occasional instant classic.
The club method
Choose a book. Read the book. Bring your evidence.
Choose

Read
Favourites are defended, disappointments are documented, and no one is allowed to say “it was fine” without elaborating.
Record
Books, ratings, dates and disagreements stay here, ready for the next argument and the next unlikely winner.
Earlier chapter
Before this archive, there was Book Club Ed — an earlier chapter of the club that ran from August 2023 through June 2025. Its books, overall ratings and book club thoughts now live together on the archive page.
